In an endeavour of boosting the education system in Bandipura Tehsil, 14 RR Bn (GARH RIF) had established an Army Goodwill School at Aragam on 01 Apr 2005. The project had been undertaken under Op-Sadbhavana. Local population had taken keen interest and provided a helping hand in completing this project. Aragam Panchayat had donated Shamilat Mohfooza Kahcharai land measuring 5 Kls for the project. People had shown keen interest in getting their wards admitted in this school and in first year of opening a total of 61 students were admitted in Nursery, LKG, UKG and first standards. Total staff of seven which includes one Principal, four Teachers, One Ayah and one Chowkidar was appointed to run the school efficiently. During first week of Sep 05 militants gave a threatening call to the parents of the students not to send their kids to the school run by Army under Op Sadbhavana. Due to terrorist threat staff and students stopped attending the school wef Sep 05 and the school became inoperative. Army Goodwill School, Aragam was re-opened on 16 Mar 09. The school has been taken over from 14 Rashtriya Rifles (GARH) in the month of Jun 12 by 13 Rashtriya Rifles (KUMAON). It follows the State Board of Secondary Education (BOSE) academic session i.e. 01 Nov to 31 October. Today the school has grown to a middle school till class VIII under sadhbhavan. The school today boasts of a strength of 224 students and 15 staff members in the diminutive Bandipore Tehsil.
